Ulises de la Orden

Director, Scriptwriter and Producer. Born in Buenos Aires in 1970. Graduate of Universidad del Cine, FUC. Professor at Escuela Nacional de Experimentación y Realización Cinematográfica, ENERC.
I started my career in film in 1991, as an occasional actor in short films made by friends, and running cables for slightly larger productions, music videos and ads. My first big gig was shining 5000 pairs of boots for Evita, by Alan Parker, with later led me to work in Budapest and London, to later return to Argentina and work on Seven Years in Tibet. Since 1998, with my production company, Polo Sur Cine, I’ve been doing my own projects, which have taken me to places as diverse as Hungary, France, England, India, Hong Kong, China, Canada, the United States, Paraguay, Chile and all of Argentina. Always seeking to tell the stories that touch my heart, in connection with the environment, indigenous peoples and the most pressing social and political issues.
I’ve directed and exhibited nine feature-length films: Upstream, Beyond Land, Green Desert, Human Trafficking, Chaco, The sun rises from the ground, Matter of Mind, Vilca, the Magic of Silence and Wind and Tide.
Of all the film projects I’ve got lined up, the ones I’m fondest of are those that seek to bring film and people together.
